In the US there are many traditions, in this page I will tell you more about a really manly one, it's called "No shave November", the rules are simple, if you're a guy, you can swear on the 31 of October not to shave during the whole month of November, if you do, you lose, and disgrace will be on you until Christmas...
No just kidding about the disgrace, there is nothing to win or to lose about "No Shave November" it is just fun to participate and see how fast your beard grows in comparison to others...
